EXP3 - Final Submission

THEORY:

Well designed buildings 'live' when they respect nature and their surroundings

When designing this building I was always conscious of ensuring it worked with nature to become a environmentally friendly and sustainable building. The building would be equipped with many energy saving devices, like smart air cooling systems, solar panels, louvres ect. The rooftop garden also helps this building respect nature. The final product, especially with its central rotating structure, is a truly living thing that would be an iconic addition to the UNSW campus.

MOVING ELEMENTS:

The building consists of a solid bridge like structure, spanning from the Squarehouse to the International Building. The elevator of this section of the building is comprised of a separate elevator room which moves up and down on the back of the building.

The second moving element is a central cylindrical area which rotates slowly and allows students to have a 360 degree view of the university from an elevated angle as they study in the faculty.
